I Love London… Koo Arts

I Unapologetically love London.  Inspiration is around every corner.  You cannot visit this place without feeling like anything you want is possible.  New ideas and movements are brimming and exploding in this melting pot of a city.

A new feature I am launching is my weekly I Love London piece which I am so excited to share with you.  London is filled with so many talented people who have so much to share with everyone and I want to support these folks as much as possible, as they are a part of the fabric of what makes this city great.

Having today just returned from London, my mind (and photo-stream) is overflowing with things that I want to share with you all, so I am going to start with what Dan & I loved most… Koo Arts.

Strolling through Spitalfields we stumbled across this amazing stand and spoke to the charming Kay Leslie, who creates these beautiful and intricate designs by applying hand cut paper images to the various skulls.  Each piece is unique and hand crafted by Kay herself.  She also sells her personally designed and made headbands and belts.

I have never seen anything like these before, but can instantly picture them in a multitiude of Tarantino film sets.

I love the quirky design and when I sort out my office I will definitely be picking one up, to grace a feature wall.

Kay tells me that she has sourced the collage paper from a multitude of destiniations, internationally which gives each piece a distinct vibe.  The rose gold leaf which she has painstakingly applied to the inner areas of the skulls adds a depth to her pieces as well as an intricate charm.

What a find.. only in London!

Much Love,

Lisa xx
