A Tribute To My Beautiful Daughter.

With Mother’s Day approaching, it has really got me thinking about just how lucky I am to be a mother.  Is there anything in life that is more fulfilling? More rewarding? I don’t think so.

Prior to having children I was a happy, carefree, career-determined twenty-something, looking for more purpose in life.  People would often say that I was un-maternal and I can’t say that I would have disagreed with that.

However, from the moment I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter, this completely changed.  It opened something that nothing else could.  It highlighted a void in my life that I didn’t even realise was there.

I could list so many ways in which my life has been enriched by her very being.  I am a better person because of her.  I wake smiling every day, knowing that I am the luckiest woman alive, to have been blessed with her.

I wanted to share this poem with you all:

To My Daughter,

If I could give you one thing in life,

It would be the ability to see yourself through my eyes.

Only then would you see how very special you are to me.

Love from,

Your Mummy.

I hope that all of you wonderful mummy’s enjoy Mother’s Day!  Let’s all celebrate just how blessed we are.
