Anyone close to me will testify to the fact that I love all things make-up and beauty. I have ammassed quiet a large collection over the past few years, and have some favourite go-to products and brands that always deliver.
Having had bad skin in my teenage years, I tried everything under the sun in an attempt to have a clear complexion. Of all of the products I tried, from Dermalogica, Clinque, Estee Lauder, YSL down to Body Shop Tea Tree skincare range, the one brand that I saw clear results with was Clarins. I use their cleansing milk & toner, which are made from natural plant extracts, so you don’t have that stinging feeling after use. I explain this because, my bad skin was the main factor in influencing my beauty purchases since my teens ( set your clocks back around 15 years ). In the quest for perfect skin & flawless make-up I have tried a huge number of products across a wide ranging spectrum of brands.
I have chosen to share a few of my favourite items overall, but will go into more detail about skincare, my make-up routine & how to cover acne at a later date (so please subscribe & follow me for updates).
I will start with my favourite perfume, Theirry Mugler Alien. This was the first perfume my fiance brought for me for Valentines’ day a few years ago. I love the musky scent and the bottle is beautiful. I am a huge fan of more deep and musky smells, over more light and citrus scents. I love Vivienne Westwood Boudoir perfume, this is one of my all time favourites, but Alien nabs the top spot.
Secondly, my Clarins bronzer is something I do not leave the house without. My skintone is pale/medium (depending on season), and the palette is a lovely warm brown with hints of light pink running through it, which perfectly compliments my skin. I use a little over the bridge of my nose, under my cheekbones and across the hairline on my forehead to give a sculpted, contoured finish. For me, the great thing about this product is, when I am busy during the day and my make-up starts to look a little faded, this is perfect to give your skin life again. It is not too heavy so you can swipe it across the same areas mid-way through the day and you are left looking refreshed again.
Moving on to my Soap & Glory love. They do, arguably, produce some amazing smelling body products. I simply love the smell. In the picture you can see the body scrub, which I use religiously throughout winter, as the cold weather and heating leaves my skin dry. The product range is budget in terms of price and I always feel pampered after using them. A definate winner.
Boots Sanctuary body butters are also amazing. They are so rich and smell amazing. I am on a mission to keep my skin feeling soft and smooth and moisturise twice daily at minimum. These butters help retain moisture in your skin and again are easy on the wallet.
